Coding for Kids

Available at Melrose and Gainsboro Libraries for free

Coding for Kids is a free program designed to introduce children to the world of programming and coding. This educational initiative aims to equip young minds with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this increasingly digital society.

During this session, children will be introduced to the fundamentals of coding through a user-friendly interface. The program uses age-appropriate and visually appealing tools and resources to create an immersive learning environment. Coding for Kids helps develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for coding and programming in particular, but also for many other fields.


Teen Robotics

Available at Melrose and Gainsboro Libraries for free

Teen Robotics is a free program designed to introduce teenagers to the world of robotics, programming, and coding. The program focuses on teaching participants how to utilize the Dash robot, a popular educational tool that promotes hands-on learning and problem-solving skills.

During the one-hour sessions, teens will learn the basics of programming and coding, which they can then apply to control the robot's movements, actions, and even reactions. The program encourages participants to think creatively, work collaboratively, and develop critical problem-solving abilities.


Digital Arts for Teens

Available at Melrose and Gainsboro Libraries for free

The Digital Arts for Teens program is a free and one-hour-long program specifically designed for teenagers. The primary objective of this program is to teach young individuals how to express their artistic skills through computer-aided design (CAD). By leveraging technology and creativity, the program aims to empower teenagers to create digital art masterpieces using software tools.

Throughout the program, participants will receive instruction and guidance on various aspects of CAD, including digital drawing techniques, graphic design principles, and animation concepts. They will be introduced to popular software applications commonly used in the field, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and AutoCAD.
